Pastoral Council - The Council offers an annual training
workshop for the Parish Pastoral Council Members.
Outreach to Inactive Catholics/Landings
(Ministries of Welcome and Hospitality) - "We want to let our inactive
brothers and sisters know that they always have a place in the Church
and that we are hurt by their absence - as they are . . . " Landings
is parish-based ministry that empowers laity to welcome back returning
Catholics.
Emmaus - Small Christian Communities
- Small communities include elements of shared prayer, mutual support,
reflection, learning, participation in the mission of Jesus.
Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (and
children) - RCIA is a process of faith development and catechesis
by which adults and children age 7 are initiated into the Catholic
Church through the reception of the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation
and Eucharist.
LIMEX (Loyola Graduate Program - New Orleans)
The Loyola Institute for Ministry is a department of City College
of Loyola University New Orleans. The university is one of 28
Jesuit institutions of higher learning in the United States. The
university's rich history and its Jesuit influence date back to
the early 18th century when the Jesuits first arrived among the
earliest settlers in New Orleans and Louisiana. The Commission on
Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools
accredits it.
Catechetical Formation - Catechist
Formation is a process through which a catechist completes minimal
requirements and earns the title of Certified Catechist. The
requirements are determined by the
Diocesan Office of Ministry Formation Services.
Natural Family Planning Ministry
- This ministry coordinates classes for Natural Family Planning
held at Saint Thomas Hospital.
Respect Life Ministry - The
Diocese of Nashville provides information to parishes on the Catholic
Church's comprehensive efforts to advocate for the sanctity of all
human life and protect life from conception to natural death.
Engaged Couples' Retreat
- The Engaged Couples' Retreat provides an opportunity for engaged
couples to explore their understanding of and readiness to enter
the Sacrament of Matrimony. Topics addressed include: Myers-Briggs
Personality Type Indicator; communication; finances; intimacy, sexuality
and sex; and spirituality and Sacramentality. Each topic is presented
by a married couple. Following the presentation engaged couples
discuss and reflect together privately and then join with a small
group of engaged couples, facilitated by a married couple, for conversation
on the topic.
