Why Catholic? is a small community, faith sharing program from Renew International www.renewintl.org offered at parishes in the Diocese of Nashville.
Click here for a list of participating parishes.
The program, based on the four pillars of the Catechism of the Catholic Church, offers a concrete approach to help adults connect Church teachings to their everyday lives.
"Profession of Faith"
What the Church Believes
"The Celebrates the Christian Mystery" How the Church celebrates/Sacraments
"Life in Christ" How the Church Lives
"Christian Prayer" How the Church Prays
All are encouraged to attend this strong community and faith building program offered at the parish level. Small community faith sharing groups usually meet in the homes of those that have volunteered to be small community leaders. Recommended group size is 10 – 12 people. Meetings typically last 90 minutes and meet once a week for six consecutive weeks. Session I in the fall prior to Advent and Session II in the spring during Lent, ending prior to Holy week.
Annual Diocesan meetings for small community leaders (new and existing) are offered every August to “kick-off” the new year. For this year’s August schedule, click here. To start a group, join a group or become a leader, contact your Why Catholic? parish coordinator through your parish office.
