Subiaco Academy Discovery Experience for prospective students and their parents (Feb. 16-18), from 4 p.m. February 16 to 12 noon February 18. Subiaco Academy is a college preparatory, residential and day school for young men located in western Arkansas. The event is open to boys in grades 6-10. Urgent Need for Catholic Religious Emblem Counselors; Training is (March 3), 8 a.m. - 4 p.m., Holy Family Church, 9100 Crockett Rd., Brentwood. The Catholic Committee on Scouting trains Catholic adult leaders on various Catholic religious emblems available to Cub, Boy, and Girl Scouts. This program is a great opportunity to get involved with helping our scouts learn about their faith through the earning of their scouting religious emblems. For young people to participate in this Catholic Ministry, there needs to be adults who are willing to train on the programs and deliver them to the youth. Please spread the word to everyone you know inside and out of your Parish about this training. Overbrook School is now accepting applications for PreK through eighth grade for the 2012-2013 school year. Overbrook is a co-educational, Catholic school where children grow in grace and knowledge. JPII High School Admissions Information. Applicants can fill out an online form for admission to Pope John Paul II High School in Hendersonville. Those who register early can take placement exams in October and November to receive acceptance letters before Christmas and be first in line to register for classes in the spring. CONFERENCES/SEMINARS/WORKSHOPS/CONVENTIONS: 

Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University Class (Saturdays, beginning February 18), 10 a.m. -12 p.m., St. Stephen, Holy Family Center, Room 105, 14544 Lebanon Rd., Old Hickory. The class is a 13 consecutive week class that meets once per week for two hours. You learn everything from budgeting to giving. Many families have achieved financial peace by learning the importance of budgeting, creating savings, and getting out of debt in this class. Religious Emblems Instructor Training (March 3). The Catholic Committee on Scouting will host a six hour training session on their Religious Emblems Program, intended to prepare instructors to help youth earn this award. A Clinical Experiential Course in the Art and Practice of Pastoral Care (Tuesdays 5:30 - 9 p.m., March 6-May 8). As a follow-on to the two introductory courses, A Survey of the Art and Practice of Pastoral Care, previously offered through the auspices of the St. Thomas/Nashville CPE Partnership, this clinically-focused course will include some educational features of Basic Clinical Pastoral Education. Silent Directed Retreats at Mercy Convent (Feb. 20-22, March 23-25, April 27-29), 2629 Pennington Bend Rd., Nashville. The retreats begin with an evening meal on the first day and close at 5 p.m. on the last day.  Meals and overnight lodging are provided. Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) SEARCH Retreats. SEARCH is a retreat program offered by the Catholic Youth Office of the Diocese of Nashville. It enables high school juniors and seniors to see how they can be examples of faith in their own schools and parishes. This is accomplished by having the Searchers come to know themselves, others, and God in a more loving and personal way. 2012 SEARCH dates: Feb. 10-12, Feb. 24-26, March 23-25, April 27-29. Sisters’ Pilgrimage (February 10-11), beginning 6 p.m. Friday and concluding 8 p.m. Saturday. Single women ages 18-40 interested in learning more about life in a religious community are invited to participate. The participants will spend time with three religious orders active in Nashville: the Daughters of Charity, Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia Congregation, and the Sisters of Mercy. At each stop, they will spend time with the sisters in prayer, meal and recreation and learn how they can make a difference for people in the Nashville area and beyond. LECTURE SERIES/SPEAKERS:

Anger-Grief the Jesus Way (Feb. 4), 9:30 a.m. on WNQM 1300 AM. The Nashville radio program We Believe hosts a discussion with Fr. Steve Wolf on his book exploring with humor the compassionate way Jesus deals with the emotion of anger shown in the story of the healing of the man with a withered hand in the 3rd chapter of the Gospel of Mark, the only place in the gospels where the word "anger" is applied to Jesus. Hosts for this episode of We Believe are Deacon Jim Walsh, Dr. Richard Shriver, and Sr. Catherine Joseph, O.P.

The Gospel of Peace in a Culture of Violence (Feb. 22, Mar. 28), 6 p.m. in Jan. and Mar. and 7 p.m. in Feb., St. Henry Parish Center Meeting Room, 6401 Harding Pike, Nashville. Father Al Merz, O.F.M., a Franciscan priest serving in Nashville, will lead us in an opportunity to find the clarity, courage, and motivation to live by God's grace, a life of peace and to be instruments of peace in our troubled world. Concert by Grammy-Winning Vocal Ensemble, The King’s Singers (March 24), 7:30 p.m., Cathedral, 2015 West End Ave., Nashville. The repertoire of the whole concert is sacred music that is inspired by, or is a reflection on, the Lord’s Prayer. The concert will be recorded in the beautiful acoustics of the Cathedral and will be released to CD in Fall on the Naxos label. Catholic Charities Seeks Support for North Nashville Outreach and Loaves & Fishes. These programs have been directly affected by recent reductions in federal emergency needs funding. Without these funds, Catholic Charities will lose the ability to provide tens of thousands of meals to homeless and low income families. Retrouvaille Nashville Weekend (March 9-11). Retrouvaille is a marriage recovery program for struggling couples who are considering separation or divorce.
