The Catholic Cemetery participates in affirming the Church's belief in the sacredness of the human body and values the individual dignity of
the human person.

Calvary Cemetery is an ideal place to provide consolation for those who mourn and where our loved ones can be laid to rest in a way that dignifies and respects the sacredness of human life.

Catholic funeral rites highlight several important beliefs and values that the Church affirms in its funeral practices:

  • The sacredness of all human life.
  • The dignity of the individual person.
  • The resurrection of Jesus Christ, the firstborn of the dead, and of his faithful followers. Death is an occasion to confront and embrace human mortality.
  • The respect that is to be shown for the bodies of the dead.
  • The importance of remembering the dead and offering prayers for them.
  • The need for the Church to provide a ministry of consolation to those who mourn.

Christian Burial Practices
Each family has the opportunity and is encouraged to select a suitable resting for themselves or a loved one before one is needed. The wisdom of planning for the future will only aid in directing full attention to the sacred burial rituals when the time comes.
