Home, sweet home

To celebrate the completed expansion and renovation of their Motherhouse, The Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia Congregation in Nashville held a special Mass June 24 for major donors to the $45 million project.

Cardinal William Keeler, Archbishop of Baltimore, Archbishop Raymond Burke of St. Louis, Bishop David Choby of Nashville, Bishop Joseph Kurtz of Knoxville and Bishop David Foley of Birmingham, Ala., participated in the Mass

The St. Cecilia Dominicans are among the fastest growing orders in the country with more than 200 sisters. That growth, paired with the aging and deteriorating conditions of the Motherhouse, prompted the expansion and renovation.

The final touches on the renovations to the oldest sections of the Motherhouse will be complete later this summer.
